Allen Freeman
Photographer, Artist, Media Guru....
Born in Owensboro, KY in 1956, Allen has been photographing everything around him
since he was old enough to hold a camera.He's shot 8mm, Super8mm, VHS camcorders,
digital video camcorders, film cameras and digital cameras.He has a BFA from
Western KY University graduating in 1978, with a minor in Mass Comunications.
He attended photo classes taught by Life Magazine Photographers, plus he also
learned to master an airbrush while he was there.
Right out of college he worked in Akron, OH, at Hitchcock and Fleming and
Associates Advertising. He learned even more about illustrating for commercial art
and photo retouching with an airbrush from E. Shwartz, a professional in the field since the 40's.
There he worked on projects for such clients as Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., Firestone,
Mac Tools and many other major clients.
In 1983 he started his own graphic arts studio, Tiger Grafix, in Frankfort, KY which
he ran for 13 years. There he worked with such clients as the University of Kentucky,
Kentucky Educational Television, Valvoline, Clark Equipment, Brady Games, NOW Comics....
In 1996 he was hired by Sierra On-Line to create 3D modeling and texturing
for PC games such as Front Page Sports Pro Football 1998, and 99, and create
knock out web designs for many of their games.
He also worked with Boss Game Studios and Microsoft where his last project
was on the Xbox game: Crimson Skies-High Road to Revenge.
From 2003 through the fall of 2005, he worked freelancing for various comic
book projects, coloring, inking, lettering and creating cover art.
He also created web sites for other artists and local businesses.
Now Allen is back in Owensboro creating web site designs, logos, and other
commercial art projects (www.allenfreeman.net) as well as working with his
comic book company Fan-Atic Press (www.fanaticpress.com)
